items/questions in your submission. It is not mandatory that you
provide everything outlined below, but the more information you can
provide, the easier it will be for the judges to assess your entry.
Submissions can include printed brochures, DVD, CD-ROM, or video
presentations. As it is difficult to circulate DVDs or videotapes to
judges, it is most helpful if you can provide links to a Web site
for video presentations.

Provide a brief overview of the nomination. When was the
facility/device/product created? When was it (or when will it be)
commercially available or otherwise made available to the public?

Innovation/Technical
Creativity
How does the nominee demonstrate innovation/technical creativity? Is
this a completely new facility/device/product or a new application of
existing technology? How does it differ from currently available
facilities/devices/products?

Business Impact
If the nominee is publicly available, what is the price? How is it
available to users?

Social Impact
How does the nominee improve the lives of those with disabilities? Who
is the target user? How does the nominee go beyond the regulatory
requirements of the Americans with Disabilities Act (or similar
foreign legislation)?

Show how the nominee demonstrates the principles of universal design,

Submissions are evaluated by an impartial panel of judges representing
the technology and disability communities. Additional information may
be requested.
Winners:
Winners will be invited to
exhibit/display their submission during the presentation of the 2008 da Vinci Awards®
in the fall of 2008 (exact date to be announced).
